Living a Redeemed Life — A Conversation with Michele Morin

I don’t usually share a post on Fridays, but I couldn’t resist sharing this podcast (yes, Michele has entered the 21st century) of a conversation with Holly Barrett.

Last fall, Holly Barrett invited me to be a guest on her weekly show, Living a Redeemed Life.  By the time we worked out the details of scheduling (and using Skype . . . ), it was nearly Christmas time, but it is my pleasure today to introduce to you my friend Holly and to urge you to check out her blog, Reclaiming a Redeemed Life,  where you will find that she is not only a skilled interviewer, but also a fine writer and a student of Scripture.

Holly asked me about my family, how I got started with blogging, and, of course, we talked about books.  Click here to listen in on our visit!

Living a Redeemed Life is a podcast dedicated to encouraging all who listen to live in the redemption found in Jesus every day. Each week Holly enjoys a conversation with a friend—some old friends, some new—and they talk about all the things. Jobs and friends, spouses and kids, the writing life, the struggles they’ve overcome, the ones they’re still struggling with, and much more. And along the way, we see how God is redeeming each circumstance to bring us closer to Him. It’s also a lot of fun! So sit back and relax, and enjoy this conversation with my friend!

Michele Morin is a teacher, blogger, reader, and gardener who finds joy in sitting at a table surrounded by women with open Bibles. She has been married to an unreasonably patient husband for over 25 years, and their four children are growing up at an alarming rate. Michele loves hot tea and well-crafted sentences, poems that stop her in her tracks and days at the ocean with the whole family. She laments biblical illiteracy and advocates for the prudent use of “little minutes.” She blogs at Living Our Days, and you can connect with her on Facebook or Twitter.

  1. It was a delight to hear your voice, Michele! You did a fine job pouring out so many good things–not the least of which was our common enjoyment of Downton Abbey. I am just finishing Season 4 but it makes such a restful way to finish off the day. Though I must admit, as the time in focus creeps toward modernity I feel less drawn to it and less refreshed by it. I may stop with Season 4…

The other thing I am fascinated with is your writing process. I am in awe that you can compose as beautifully as you do while on the go with home and family, doing dishes no less! God has given you a precious gift. Thanks for sharing!

    1. It’s always reassuring to hear from people who “know you” when you take a risk. So glad that you were able to listen in and, as usual, you come to me with the gift of encouragement — which is so appreciated!

  2. Michele, I listened to this last week and really enjoyed getting to know you better. You sounded very comfortable … as if you are a seasoned veteran of podcasts (note that I did not say “old pro”). 🙂 I love your sense of humor, which I guess is a necessity when raising four boys. And I’m definitely going to have to repurpose your “I’m not the secretary of state” line … I laughed out lout at that one.

    1. Thanks for your choice of words! 🙂 And, I’m very thankful that Holly made the whole process so painless. I really appreciate your positive feedback, because I’m really NOT the secretary of state, so . . .

  3. I am such a podcast addict. Seriously, I currently have 109 (the number is frequently changing) on my feed. I’m excited to add a new one. I’m actually planning on starting one under the A Narrow-Minded Woman umbrella (as well as with my two other businesses) soon. I love the gift of podcasts. Technology has been such a blessing to spread the message of the Gospel throughout the world. Soli deo Gloria!

    1. Wow, 109! I’m overwhelmed with the half dozen that I try to follow each week, but I certainly see where your intensely positive regard for them comes from, because there’s just SO MUCH GOOD information out there at our finger tips.

  5. Awe man, I can’t get it to play. Boo. I will be looking it up on my phone (which is where I normally play podcasts while making the 50 min. drive (one way) to pick up my son from school each afternoon.) Can’t wait to hear! As always, thank you for sharing with #ChasingCommunity, my friend. ((xoxo))
